Non sono mai stata una sua grande fan... anche perché ai tempi delle sue canzoni di successo come "thriller" o "bad" ero troppo piccola e l'inglese ancora non lo sapevo. Non capendo quindi il significato delle parole non potevo dire se una canzone mi piacesse o no, al di là della musica, e per questo fino a quando non ho cominciato a studiare l'inglese alle superiori sono stata un'amante della sola musica italiana (perché di canzoni francesi, studiato alle medie, qui in Italia non se ne è mai sentite molte).
Con lo studio dell'inglese mi si è aperto un mondo tutto nuovo... in particolare una professoressa per spiegarci alcune regole grammaticali prendeva ad esempio proprio canzoni inglesi: "This used to be my playground" di Madonna, "The wall" dei Pink Floyd, "Father and son" di Cat Stevens... e la famosissima "We are the world" di Michael Jackson in collaborazione con altri famosi cantanti statunitensi.
Non è stata l'unica che lui ha scritto per solidarietà e denuncia e tra tutte quante mi piace in particolar modo questa, dedicata ai bambini.
